Did you know that love is essential for people to experience good physical health? To love is one of the most natural biological and psychological emotional behaviors of human beings. Love is comprised of many biological and neurological chemicals, physiological reactions and psychological elements, all working together as nature designed to ensure that human beings become attracted to one another, enjoy sexual intimacy and form lasting bonds. Without this complex system leading to what we identify as love, human beings would cease to exist.
Nutrition and physical exercise are only part of a system of human needs which impacts the overall physical and emotional condition of a person’s health. Love and interpersonal relationships are just as important to consider, nurture and develop as without love and relationships the human frame and spirit can develop various physical and psychological illnesses and diseases. Spiritual teacher and mystic Osho supported this so eloquently when he said, “Just as food is needed for the body, love is needed for the soul.”
Often people focus solely on specific areas of their lives such as their career while excluding important biological and psychological needs such as love. Over time, missing elements essential to life will eventually manifest in ways that will impact the overall quality of life and health of a person.
